Nielsen DMA® Codes complement:

We are re-licensing our Media Markets service which complements the Nielsen DMA® codes!
We no longer sell the Nielsen DMA® data directly (you will need to license the data from Nielsen Media Research). What we do offer to Nielsen licensees is a service which takes the DMA® data and makes the following changes:
- Only One DMA® per ZIP Code: In the Neilsen DMA® files, there are about 9,000 ZIP Code records which cross more than one DMA® code (giving you two or more records per ZIP code), but the bulk of them are primarily in one DMA® code and not another. We use our extensive data files and sophisticated software to determine the best DMA® code for each ZIP Code.
- Formatted for Easy Loading: We have created 3 small, normalized files without duplication of DMA® region or county names. This format is ideal for programmers to load into a database.
- Longer Names: Along with Nielsen's names, we include our extended market area and county names which are ideal for use in reporting. With a longer field length, we are able to expand heavily abbreviated names such as 'BL ERTH-NCL-S' into 'Blue Earth-Nicollet South'. Blue Earth and Nicollet are names of counties in Minnesota. Additionally, some counties are split by Nielsen Media into areas such as: North, South, East, West and Central and we have spelled out those designations.
- Regular Updates: This product was sold as a one-year subscription for $750 per year to non-resellers of the data, but is now offered as a service for only $350 per year to both resellers and non-resellers because of the need for separate data licensing by Nielsen Media Research. It is updated throughout the year as new ZIP Codes become available.
